A group of Franklin High School band students recently took a trip to Orlando, and for many of them, it was an experience they will remember for a long time. The trip gave students the chance to explore Disney parks and spend a few days together outside of school.
One of the more unique parts of the trip was getting to record new music.
“An activity I got to experience while there was the band recording a few songs from Disney movies, one of them being placed over a movie clip, which was pretty cool,” Nikia Henderson, Grade 10, said.
Henderson also believes traveling together helped everyone relax and get to know each other better.
“It was honestly very fun traveling with the band. They’re all very fun yet chill people, and our director made sure we were all comfortable and fed,” she said.
For Jackie Balderas, Grade 10, visiting the parks was a high point.
“My favorite part of the trip was going to Magic Kingdom which has always been a dream of mine, but also getting to see and meet the characters I grew up watching,” Balderas said.
Meeting characters like Tigger, Pooh, and Frozone was one of the wonderful moments that stood out to her.
Another highlight for students was the shows they were able to watch while visiting the parks. Pedro Martinez,Ggrade 9, especially loved them.
“A moment that really stood out to me was at the end of the second day when we got to see a live action performance called ‘Fantasmic.’ It was a really nice show including characters from famous Disney movies.”
