On November 8th 2018, the Farmington Wind Ensemble played at the annual Patriotic Day Celebration held at Farmington High School. They played many songs in honor of our veterans. The Wind Ensemble did an amazing job on all of the songs they played. The student soloists did a really good job in front of a packed house. The songs played by the ensemble were “America, the Beautiful”, “Star Spangled Banner”, accompanied by Farmington High school teacher Mrs. Megan Dimich, “Armed Forces Salute”, “Stars and Stripes Forever”, and “God Bless America” accompanied by Farmington High school teacher Mr. Brian Ohnsorg. All of the Wind Ensemble songs were directed by Ms. Erin Holmes.

There were also many guest speakers during the program, such as Senator Amy Klobuchar, Farmington High school student  Maya O’Reilly and Featured speakers Jerry and Jana Kyser. The Kysers spoke about Honor Flight Twin Cities which is a program dedicated to transporting local veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends.

At the end of the night, everyone in the auditorium was touched by how hard our troops worked so we could live in this free country we have today.
