Prowler press got the chance to sit down and interview the choir Vice President Maia Honl. Maia has been doing choir starting in the fifth grade honor choir through middle school up til now senior year, she was inspired by her brother when she was in elementary school to start. The choirs she’s involved in right now include the concert choir, New Dimension, and the extracurricular audition choir. One question we got to ask was what made her want to become Vice President? She stated “ I think the main reason in me becoming Vice President was talking to people. I was asking people what was making them upset or disappointed in choir. I was letting people know that I was planning on running for President initially and making these pins that said “vote for Maia!” when it came to the voting period, Hunter became president, however I noticed a lot of people didn’t run for VP, and you can still do the same things you want to do as VP, and I got the position”.  The next question we asked was what are the requirements to become the Vice President? The only requirement is you have to be in the concert choir other than that anyone can be president as long as try hard enough. Another thing we asked was what are the jobs of being Vice President? The main jobs include having to assign everyone their robes at the beginning of the year, check the cabinet their stored in after the concerts, and make sure everything is alright with people’s concerns ect. The last few questions we got to ask was what is her favorite part about being Vice President and her favorite part about being in choir. Her favorite part about being VP is becoming closer with the directors and everyone, and that people have the trust in her to go to her with their issues. And last but not least her favorite part about choir is the pride she can take in it, and how she’s developed as a singer in all her years of choir. Another favorite part is working on difficult pieces and not being completely lost, and when the song comes together and you can hear all the chords harmonize, and getting to share this experience with other people.
