Thinking about joining Track & Field?

Maddie Valentine, staff

If you’re looking for a fun spring sport, join track and field! Track and field has something for everyone whether you like to run, jump, or throw. If you have any questions about the upcoming season you can always go to boys head coach Adam Lippold or girls head coach Thomas Hart. Also, students you could go to with questions include seniors Abby Shwartz, Lexie Bray, Josh Wilson, Maurice Houston or juniors Myiah Scott, Lauren Peterson, Reagan Sevenich, or Justin Gustsalyuk. I asked junior Myiah Scott (who’s received All Conference Honorable Mention 2016, All Conference 2017, Section Champion 2017, 3x Letter Winner, 9th in state 2017, Miss Sub Club) what she would say to someone debating on joining track and field and she has to say, “If you’re thinking about joining track and field do it! It’s so much fun, so don’t let the fear of running keep you from joining
track because there’s a something for you. If you don’t want to run, you don’t have to! You could always do jumps or throws. Also, people of all different levels do track and field, so you will always have someone to compete with. The meets are the best. We compete, cheer on our teammates, and it’s a lot of fun. There’s a ton of wonderful people that will make you feel welcome. It’s fun to socialize but it’s also fun to get better and work hard. The coaches are amazing and so much fun to be around. I believe that track and field is a great way to be apart of something and be active. So if you’re thinking about joining track and field, do it!” The boys and girls 2018 season starts March 12th, hope to see you there!
