Girls Varsity Soccer: Season Reflection

The Farmington girl’s soccer team had a strong and promising start to their season. To open the season, they played Rochester Mayo at home and came out with a 3-1 victory. The team would then go on to win the next game against Rochester John Marshall. After a few more wins, the team then struck a rough patch in the middle of their season. Even with the challenges the team faced during the course of the season they continued to work hard and never hung their heads. I got a chance to speak with senior captain Morgan Regnier and asked her what her thoughts were on her final season as a tiger at Farmington high school. She said, “We were all excited going into the season, because we got a new coach and we had heard great things about him. We also had very high expectations with the amount of new talent coming in. We had a strong start but I was hoping for better results towards the end of the season. Even though we had our struggles the team still got along really well and we all had worked to improve. Although the season ended earlier than I hoped, I wouldn’t have wanted to spend my final season as a tiger with any other group of girls.”

The girls would go onto finish their season with a record of 5 wins, 3 ties, and 8 loses.
