Bridges is a very underestimated part of Farmington High School’s education. Bridges is a program that is there to help students who have struggles with test taking, homework, or just get stressed easily. Bridges is combined of 3 teachers. Mr. Fischer, Mr. Huppert, and Mrs. Carpentier. I interviewed Mrs. Carpentier since she is the newest addition to the bridges family. I had asked what made her decide to be a high school teacher, her response was “ I had always knew I wanted to be back in the high school classroom once my own children were in school full time. I have stayed home with the two youngest the last 5 years. I had a connection with FHS through coaching girls basketball the last 3 years, so when the opportunity to teach social studies came I thought the timing was right to get back into teaching. We live in farmington and the community, schools, and staff are great. It has been a huge blessing to be able to teach and coach in the same building.” Mrs. Carpentier teaches ALP, Civics, US History, and Bridges. When asked if she enjoys teaching here she says  “ I absolutely love teaching here! I enjoy working with my Bridges students, and love the fact I am able to be with them for the entire school year. It will be great to see how they progress throughout the year. Working with Mr. Fischer and Mr. Huppert isn’t too bad either. Those two have a done a lot of work, and have added some different pieces to our Bridges classes. Every day is different and unique, which can be challenging but positive at the same time. (My advisory rocks!!!)” Her favorite part of teaching she says is “ My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing students succeed through effort and persistence. I enjoy being a mentor for them, working thru challenges with them and building positive relationships.” Mrs.Carpentier was great choice to ad to the Bridges program.
