Are you bored and wondering what to do this coming fall? Well, join cheer! Cheer is one of the fun ways to get involved in school and be on a team where you become not only team mates but family! Shayna Deiss, a former captain of the Winter Cheer Team, states that “cheer has led to some of her best memories and when introduced to a bunch of girls right away may be tough but you really do get to know one another and become stronger as a whole.” Cheerleading is unlike any other sport or activity, it has an individual skillset however there definitely is no “I” in team over here. Cheer pulls together every type of athlete and truly learn how to work together. Not only do you get new friends but cheer lets you build self-esteem and confidence, and there’s nothing more powerful than inner strength. Not only does everyone cheer together but we will have cook outs, sleepovers, movie nights, and go out to dinner after games. I, myself am a cheerleader, and I can fully say that Cheer has changed my life for the better. When I first joined cheer, my freshman year, I had met some of the seniors and they helped teach me the ropes of this brand new school. So, join cheer for not only the memories and free games but for some of the greatest best friends you will ever meet! Cheer tryouts will take place from May 1st-4th at the FHS Main Gym from 3:45-5:30 p.m.. All you need to wear is athletic wear and smiles!!
