Trapshooting is one of the many spring sports that goes on during, well, spring. But what is it like being in a sport where you shoot guns? This was one of the questions that was asked to one of the many members of Trapshooting, more on that later. “Being on the Trap team is really fun,” they said, “the coaches are all very helpful, and know what they’re talking about, and it’s also quite laid back, and relaxed because the competitions are online!” When asked about how many people are a part of Trapshooting, the respond was “I believe that there is around over 100 members on the Trap Team this year. The amount of people on the team has been steadily growing over the past 3 years or so when I joined.” Competitions was the next question in mind. The competitions themselves are quite relaxed, and that basically its a bunch of people going out and shooting for fun. After they shoot, the scores are entered into a website and then that’s where their team competes with others. The MN Trapshooting State Meet is the largest high school trap shooting competition in the world, last year reached around 10,000 people that showed up.
