The girls basketball team is preparing for Section finals this Friday, March 8th 2019 against Lakeville North at the Mayo Civic Center for the opportunity to go to State. This is the second year in a row girls basketball has gone to Section 1AAAA championship. They’ve had a great season so far and are seeded 1st in their Conference for the first time after beating Eagan, Shokopee, and Lakeville North to earn top seed. They have an impressive record of 22 wins and only 4 losses in their regular season. Farmington has not won a game against Lakeville North for 4 years until this year. However, this year they have beat them twice already this season by 14 and 22 points. They will play North for the 3rd time and are hoping for another win to make it to state.

Another highlight of their season was senior night where they recognized their seniors Myiah Scott, Abbie Clayton, Kaitlyn Winston, and manager Maggie Mortimer. The Tigers had a successful night as they played the Eagan wildcats and won 66-27 on home court.

Senior Abbie Clayton has been on the FHS girls basketball team since freshman year. When asked about this season she said “I am very proud of how far our team as come. We have had our best season yet and I’m glad I have been able to be a part of it.” When asked about the game this Friday she said “I’m excited and nervous to get out on the court, but I am confident in our team.”

Come out and support the girls this Friday 8:00 P.M @ Mayo Civic Center!
