The girl’s basketball team is off to a great start in sections starting off with a win against New Prague 80-58.  The team has been working hard this season in the gym and in the weight room. I asked Morgan Ebel on her thoughts about the season this year. “We have been improving a lot throughout this year. We push each other during practice which makes us better and we all give it our all in games. Overall it’s a really good team atmosphere.” The team finished their regular season off with a 17-9 overall record and an 11-7 record in the conference coming in third.

With the big win against New Prague, the girls will playing Lakeville South on Saturday down in Rochester. They have gone 1-1 against them during the regular season. I asked Morgan what the team plans on doing to bring home the win. “We are going to stick with our same game plan. We need to out rebound them on both sides of the court, keep up our defensive intensity, stop their key players and just play our game.”

The team this year has had a very close bond as well as a very successful year. “This is the most fun I’ve ever had on a team. We’re like one big happy family, we have a lot of fun together. It’s awesome.” Let’s hope the girls can bring home the next couple of wins and make it to the state tournament!
