This is Olivia Hazelbaker, junior at Farmington High School. She has now been in softball for 13 years, 9 years she has been involved with the Farmington softball community. This is now her fourth year competing for high level club teams for other cities traveling around the country playing some of the best teams in the U.S., still balancing her time between the Farmington softball team and her club team.

Olivia is preparing herself for the challenging courses ahead of her for senior year to prepare herself for college. She has committed to Augustana University in Sioux Falls for her outstanding softball skills. She plans on majoring in nursing and preparing herself for that by taking a medical program through DCTC senior year and also doing the mentoring program shadowing a current professional nurse. Even though this is going to be a hard process and take up a lot of her time, she is thrilled to get started on her future.

I asked Olivia how she manages her time between softball her job and the Dairy Queen located in Apple Valley and all these upcoming challenges with her upcoming education and she said, “softball and work takes up most of my week, but I always find at least one day for me time. I’m excited for the challenges I’m going to face next year because it means I’m one step closer to my future.” Hearing all of this I’m excited to see what Olivia brings in the future with her hard work.
