I had the chance to interview the head coach of the Farmington Competition Cheer Varsity team, coach Alexis Erp. During the interview I asked her the following questions, “Why did you start coaching”, “What do you like about coaching”,“What is your goal while coaching”. When asking Alexis why did she start coaching she answered “ Because cheer is my passion and I missed the admit sphere.” What do you like about coaching? “ I like coaching because I get to teach the girls things that i know and I like watching them have so much fun with the sport”. What is your goal while coaching? “ To see girls learn more this year and to have more have more great performances for the rest of the season.”

Coach Alexis is known to be a “tough” coach. She pushes her athletes to their maximum but they say it helps when it comes to competition day and you hit your routine perfect just because she pushes them with conditioning the last 10-15 minutes of practice. Their placement has been: UCA 10,000 Lake Regional 7th place, Jaguar Jam 3rd place , UCA Championship 1st place, UofM Championship 2nd place. They have 4 competitions left including UCA NHSCC Nationals which they earned their competition and game day bid for where Coach Alexis hopes that her team gets a jacket.
