Getting to know Kenny LaCroix

Farmington junior, Kenny LaCroix, has been playing for the Farmington boys hockey team for three years. He has been playing hockey since he was four, when his dad signed him up for skating lessons. He started playing hockey as defense but soon started playing as a goalie. LaCroix said, “I’ll never forget this one day we got out on the ice and my coach said, “hey Kenny want to try goalie?” we had a pair of old, raggy pads that I put on. I wasn’t good at first but I caught on really quick and I fell in love with being a goalie.” The Farmington boys hockey team is currently 6-15-0, after a few tough losses, they won 3-2 against Eagan on Tuesday, January 30th. When asked how the season was going LaCroix said, “Our team started off decent, then we had a rough go mid season, we just couldn’t win but when we are on our game there’s a good chance we will win.” The boys hockey team has their next game Thursday, February 8th against Rochester at 7:00 PM. Their next home game is Friday, February 9th at the Schmitz-Maki Ice Arena against Prior Lake at 7:00 PM. When asked how the team stays positive, LaCroix said, “don’t get down on each other, learn from it, and move on.”
