In late November, the Farmington Boys Basketball season began. For this article, I got the opportunity to talk to the mangers (Josie Hunt, Paulina Montbriand, Sammie Koshenina, Natalka Mak) and see what they have to say. When I asked Josie why she joined the team, she said, “I decided to manage because my brother is on the team and we share a car. Also I would be at the games anyways.” I also asked Paulina why she decided to be a part of the team and she said, “I wanted to manage because I love basketball and wanted to be around it more. This also gives me something to do and I like to help people out, so that’s why I joined!” After asking them a few more questions, I got to see their perspectives more in depth. The mangers are at every practice and every game. So, I talked to Josie and she said “At practice we wash and sort the uniforms and we run the clock.” When I asked Paulina the same question but about the games she said “At varsity games I record the games so the coaches and players can go back later and watch it to reflect on how they played. Sometimes I get distracted or forget that the camera is recording everything I say.” Lastly, the boys’ team has a home game tonight. Come support the Tigers!
