“The Skin of Our Teeth,” a historical play written by Thornton Wilder, is about a common family trying to survive in an apocalyptic setting where other forces seem to not want them to survive. The play was chosen because it is an absurdist play, which Farmington has not done in the past. Mrs. Breiland, the director of the play, shares what she is most excited about regarding the play. “I’m looking forward to seeing how far the actors are willing to push their characters.” She continued to explain how absurdity plays are hard to execute because of the fine line between “too far” and “not far enough.” Absurdist plays are generally known as plays that revolve around humanity struggling to find its purpose, leaving the characters to attempt to control their fate.

The performances are all at 7pm on Wednesday, April 18th, as well as the following Friday and Saturday (20th and 21st), at Boeckman Middle School. Tickets will be sold $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. On Wednesday night, however, student admission will be a non-perishable food item. These items will be donated to the Farmington Food Shelf. Be sure to support our student actors as well as our food shelf.
