This week, I got a chance to sit down with choir member Keisen Sabol and ask her a few questions about choir at FHS. I was curious about how long she has been singing and she said “I’ve been in choir for a while now, almost my whole life. I started in preschool singing in children’s chorus at church then stayed in choir throughout elementary and middle school.” Keisen has made her way to the auditioned women’s chorus called cantabile. The teachers are one of her favorite things about choir. “Ms. Dimich teaches women’s and concert choir.” Mr. Ohnsorg is a new face here at FHS as of last year. He teaches men’s choir and cantabile. I then asked her about the students involved in choir and she said, “The best part about choir is the people that are involved in it. Everyone is so welcoming and never judges each other. Together we are like a giant family, we have our ups and downs but we always work it out.” The next question I asked her was about their goal and Keisen told me, “A cool tradition we’ve started is a yearly word. This word brings together each choir and something we grow on the meaning throughout the year. For 2017-2018 we hose the word “trust”. The starting meaning was “build. trust, create trust” but It’s come far already and I cant Wait to see how it develops by the end of the year!” Choir seems to be very fun and welcoming. I would highly recommend joining choir here at FHS next year!
