In today’s society when AI reigns supreme, are we really working SMART or just floating along with the current?
What is SMART working? This is setting a goal for yourself and reflecting on how you accomplish this goal. SMART work is Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Driven.
For example, Specific: I will improve my Science grade and score at least 80% or better on the final exam at the end of the semester by spending 30 minutes daily reviewing the material.
Breaking down what makes this SMART; the goal is to improve your grade and be proficient on the final exam. It is measurable because you will have a final exam score for comparison and can look at your current grade versus what that grade is at the end of the semester. It is achievable, something that with time and dedication can be done by any student. It is relevant because it applies to something happening in your life right now that you have some control over. It is also time-driven for two reasons, one, you are giving yourself until the end of the semester to improve, and two, you are giving yourself time every day to work on studying the material to become more proficient.
Goals like these and many others help students and even adults stay on track for what they want to accomplish. Start with just one thing you want to change or make better.
How SMART will you work?
